This monthly reading and discussion group meets the 2nd Tuesday AM at 7:30AM with a emphasis on reviewing and discussing early childhood efforts to build healthy minds and brain towarde preventative mental health. Allan Schore Study Group Attachment, Neuroscience and Early Development
Allan N. Schore, Ph.D. from the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences University of California at Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine provides a quarterly study group at NWECI. This is a collaborative interdisciplinary study group focusing on the latest research from the broad fields of attachment theory, neuroscience and early brain development, interpersonal neurobiology and infant mental health. The translation and application of these new findings for early relational and psychotherapeutic interventions within our community will be emphasized. Participation requires a quarterly fee for his seminar and a yearly contract, with new groups committing to a year of activities. CEU's are provided. Sign up is in the Spring. Contact David W. Development-Individual Difference Relatationship-Based (DIR) Model Study Group
This study group of senior clinicians for children with autism spectrum disorders comes includes professionals from multiple disciplines including developmental pediatrics, speech and occupational therapy, child psychology and special education. The focus of the study group is on case discussion, within the DIR Model (developmentally-based, individual differences, relationally focused) as developed by Stan Greenspan, MD and the ICDL. Cases are presented by videotape review with an emphasis of discussion on comprehensive case management and peer review. Participation is by invitation, only.
